Festival Theatre at Don Heights Unitarian Congregation has been a monthly ‘evening at the theatre’ since July 2010. We meet for dinner at 5:00 pm at an inexpensive but elegant restaurant not far from Don Heights, then go to Don Heights for dessert, coffee and the film(s). Originally we concentrated on theatrical films – plays you might see at the Shaw or Shakespeare festival theatres, starting with Oscar Wilde’s An Ideal Husband. More recently we’ve included some highly regarded cinema. Ron Weigand, who organizes Festival Theatre, tries to select films you are unlikely to see at a Toronto movie theatre. Films are always shown with either subtitles or closed captions to make them accessible to the deaf or hard of hearing.
See Don Heights monthly Bulletin for the current film.
