Starch Solution PotLuck Lunch
Toronto Starch Solution Meetup group hosts this regular monthly potluck at Don Heights. These lunches are based on the principles of Dr. John McDougall’s book The Starch Solution: Eat the Foods You Love, Regain Your Health, and Lose the Weight for Good.
This low fat, whole foods, plant based (WFPB) way of eating centres on starches such as whole grains, beans, lentils, peas, potatoes, sweet potatoes, winter squashes, parsnips, pasta and so on, augmented with smaller proportions of green, yellow and orange (non-starchy) veggies prepared and served without added fat and eaten with a plethora of delicious, fat free condiments and sauces, in quantities that are satisfying. Feeling hungry or deprived is discouraged. No starvation or sacrifice required!
Stay after church for a delicious potluck lunch and a chance to mingle with some new folks. If you need suggestions for what to bring, see Dr. McDougall’s website. Please bring a copy of your recipe or a list of ingredients so that we can all learn together about the food.
A small donation would be appreciated to help defray the costs to Don Heights for the use of the space.
